Art-science collaborations are often claimed to be a response to the climate crisis. But what do they really achieve, and what remains unresolved?
This symposium critically examines unseen gaps, exclusions, power relations, failures, and friction in transdisciplinary collaboration.
Through discussions and working groups, participants will contribute to a manifesto for art–science collaboration in times of ecological and societal change.

Through engagement with the material agencies of oceans and islands, Karen Barbour discusses place-based embodied experiences, memories, affect and elemental motifs. She reflects on how humans are entangled in places, and how human actions, sustainable or destructive, reveal and reflect changes in immediate environments and the planet as a whole.
